On the main highway in a small town of 1200 in Northwestern Wisconsin. Featuring the work of 30 local/regional artists and another 20 selected colleagues from around the country have work showing pottery, jewelry, painting, quilts, glass, photography, wood and metalwork. Square Feet of Retail Space: About 900 Why did you decide to open a gallery? Exhibiting/producing artist for 30 years interested in supporting and growing local economic development through the arts. How many artists do you represent? Nearly 60 How do you promote your artists and your gallery? Local ads, Facebook, email and direct mail. Inviting storefront draws attention. What type of merchandise is made in the U.S., Canada, Imported? 60% consignment, 40% wholesale ALL US/Canada What trade shows do you attend? Our first will be ACRE Philadelphia What attracts you to new merchandise? Quality then price Do you consign? Yes Do you sell online? Not set up, but we will ship. What is your shopping routine on IndieMe? Check in as needed. Who generates the biggest sales for you? Tourists? Locals? Repeat Customers? Collectors? Word of mouth and tourism. What retail price point sells best? Under $100 in terms of numbers, but we sell well up to $250 How is business? Any thoughts for the future of craft galleries? We had a good summer and feel as though we are filling a void here. Optimistic. What advice do you have for new craft galleries? Know your market and your capabilities.
